This thread from last year might help you. It's about an October wedding in a different part of the country, but there are a lot of good ideas and suggestions here:
I would say don't do it, but I would be shot by many folks. Including my wife.
We had our wedding inside but with lots of outdoor activities planned as well. September unlike June when we got married 35 years ago can be quite warm which can make things a bit difficult not only for comfort for the guests, but for the wedding party as well. So be sure that you have alternative plans for inside activates in case the weather does not cooperate with you.
Our photos were the most important to us. Seeing when we got married there was no thing as video so all we had was photos to work with. Our church was a few miles from where we had our reception so we planned a side trip to the local park for photos with wedding party. We had the wedding early enough so we had plenty of time for them and in case there was any mishaps, (and there were a few that I cannot talk about here) but we were only one hour late for the reception but could have been much worse.
I guess what I am saying is that you must plan for foul weather or your outside plans can become something of nasty day. Remember your flowers and all the food selection will depend upon where the wedding reception will be taking place.
Good luck with the wedding and be sure to invite all of us from Hometalk community. We all love a good party!
