Ever have a problem where you want to hang small items such as keys or light coats by the door but, you are lacking in space? I have that problem. I wanted something I could hang stuff on as I walked in the door. It had to be something easy as I usually have about 5 things in my hand at once and, it had to fit a small space. After looking at several things and, not being satisfied, I decided to make something on my own.
Unfortunately, I did not take photos of the wood before I stained it. The wood was just inexpensive wood I had lying around.
The stain is Rust oleum American walnut. It has a matte finish polyurethane on top because, I wanted to keep it natural. The next step was drilling holes into the wood.
This is a close up with the knobs. I used hand painted cabinet knobs that were clearance at Lowe's.
