I have two giant white BoP and wish they were the Orange (even if my collège coloris are the "other guys" in Fla.). One is huge and really is giant, the other half its size. Both bloom but not nearly as pretty as the Orange. Going to cull out the tallest and oldest parts -- I've read they won't regrow and that suits me fine. Biggest one has gotten a lot more water due to poor sprinkler placement. That's been remedied and I will now fertilize the smaller one and see if it catches up.

@Karen Yes, the white bird of paradise are quite nice; I have a group of them in one of my side yards. Besides their bloom size, perhaps one of the things that makes their blooms stand out so well is the height of the plant. I'd say they should qualify as a tree. I have culled mine multiple times. Keep in mind, they pup out, so culling is necessary.
