Refinishing a craft store tool box

I had this unfinished tool box for a long time. I've seen so many beautiful re purposed vintage tool boxes around that I became inspired to do something with mine. I wanted a weathered look, so I dry brushed it with several layers of gray and white paint to create a vintage look and used it to store my napkins and extra flatware.

I know this is an old post, but I just happened across it! I love the tool box, but I have to know about your back-splash. Is it Tin, painted, where did you get it? Thanks for your time.

obviously I don't know for sure, but it looks like wallpaper to me. It's embossed. If you don't like the white, it can even be painted. The first time I saw it was in London. It's very nice.
