Burlap Table Makeover

I've never really cared for glass tabletops. So, when I got this table from a friend, I figured I would lose the glass altogether. I ended up having second thoughts and using the glass top. But, not until after I added some burlap!
My original plan was to put a new burlap top on this table. I had the board cut and covered in burlap when it occurred to me that it might be awfully difficult to clean. So I went a different route!
First, I painted the table in American Paint Company's Homeplate and added a light coat of Rushmore on top of that. I used Annie Sloan in Coco for the drawer front and Surfboard, another American Paint Company color, on the inside of the drawer.
After I decided to scrap the burlap table top idea, and I had mulled over things for awhile, I decided to keep the glass top AND the original idea of using burlap!
I cut a piece of coffee sack ( I get mine from my local Menards store for $1 per bag). I chose a piece with the stenciled lettering to add more character to the table. I first stapled the burlap underneath the table top. Then I went around the edges with E6000 glue. After the glue had completely dried, I trimmed off the excess. Now, I don't mind the glass top at all! In fact, I kind of adore this little table!

@Wendy Johnson I'm not sure if all the stores have them. But it's certainly worth a try! Thanks for your lovely comment! :)

thank you for this fantastic Idea......I have an occasional table that the glass broke and the idea of using the burlap to cover a piece of luan to fill that area that it was in is fantastic but instead of glass I will use matte polyurethane to help keep it dry
