Alternatives to Stain sinks

Zep W
by Zep W
We purchased a composite granite sink.
*Options I considered for this project:
Our first thought was to simply replace our old stainless steel sink with one just like it. But upon visitation to our local Lowe's and Home Depot we had to totally rethink our plan. We considered cast iron and a new product line called Vikrell from Sterling.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
Our main question was ofcourse durability. We had no idea that sinks could come in different colors and such vast materials. We had to consider the number of sink holes for the faucet, depth of the sink, divider, and yes cost.
* Cost Comments:
This is the cost of the sink without installation. This price does not include sinkhole and plumbing
*My motivation to do this project:
We had to purchase the sink due to our kitchen renovation. We had never shopped for a sink before and was really surprised by all the options of styles, depth and construction.
*Project Steps:
We researched each product line via internet, reviewed our design plan and color scheme. We asked sales associates and plumbers their opinions.
Advice:
Do read the labels of sink and research the products online. Check out the product reviews and ratings. Ask knowledgeable people in the plumbing industry.
Do not assume that stainless is the best option. Don't get overwhelmed by the product choices and colors.
