Side Table Makeover With Faux Mercury Glass Top

1 Day
Easy
It's been a while since I had the spare time to tackle a furniture project. I've had this little side table hanging around a while so I had a vision in mind but wasn't sure I could achieve it. I thought the faux mercury glass effect would be complicated...it was quick and easy! All you need is Looking Glass spray paint, vinegar & water.
I painted this side table with Plaster Paint? Have you ever tried it? It's da-bomb -- really, I'm not kidding! Anyway, the colors I used were Sweet Cream & Latte Ice and then sealed it with Plaster Paint liquid wax.

Love how easy the faux mercury glass was to do and it turned out better than I thought!
Two coats and you could already begin to see the mirror effect.
This is what the table looked like when we began. First off I brushed on a new base coat then sealed it. Added a pretty white top coat and wet distressed to achieve a natural worn look then finished it off with sealer.
I decided to leave the top completely natural for a rustic look that we think pairs beautifully with the creamy white base.
