Halloween Mantle

All over blog land I find all these mantle decorations that I love. Problem is……I don’t have a mantle. I really enjoy decorating for basically any holiday, and have been wracking my brain as to what I could do. I’ve followed this one amazing blog for long time, The House of Smiths, and love what she does! She does cute holiday decorations in one spot in her dining area, check it out here. Why it never occurred to me to do what she does is beyond me. Duh! Call me a little slow I guess. Well, this weekend we made it happen.
I bought some shelving brackets and then G cut some old barn lumber and put me up two shelves. All weekend I got my crafting on and made all sorts of Halloween stuff. I’m not into the bloody Halloween decor, so I go a little more whimsical with a few skeletons.
So here is what I crafted up in spurts over the weekend, with inspiration from the amazingly talented Margie Aslett. I put it all together Monday night………
Now lets look a little closer at what’s on each shelf. First, here is what is down below the bottom shelf.
Here is the bottom shelf with a lots more orange and black.
On this top shelf I added a candelabra I bought at Michael'. Then I threw in some skulls, and orange and black Christmas decor into a jar I already had.
Here is a mannequin I have that I decided needed a little Halloween costume as well.
I made this hat from a Dollar Tree witches hat.
Here it all is one more time for you to see. Happy Halloween.
