What to do with butcher block

I have a large Butcher block from family store which is very old and very heavy. Hate to get rid of it, but would love to have some useful idea to use it. There is no room in our kitchen for it. What else could we use it for even outside?

Have you consider using it vertically? Takes up less space that way. You could get some iron pipes and create shelves on it for an industrial look, and bolt it securely to the studs of your wall.

This block is almost as deep as it is high. Very big and heavy

Put several coats of sealer, Epoxy preferred to get an almost glass like coating and use it outside in your grilling area as a grill side counter. It can even be an end table or coffee type table in an outdoor seating area. If you don't have that then it can even be purposed in a gardening area as a potting bench. Good luck with it!

butcher block makes the greatest cutting boards- if it's too big just cut it down then sand it clean with a` power sander!!

If this was used in a store or by a butcher it is too big to cut down. I like Kimberly A's idea. If it's been in the family a long time maybe another family member has room for it. Love those kind of memories. Only idea I had was to cut down the legs and use it for a coffee table.

4 wheels a handle an axle from an old wagon and a good finish, now you have a mobile outdoor table for entertaining or plants or what ever you need.
