Ikea Rast Dresser Hack -Turned Into Faux Apothecary Cabinet Nightstand
I started realizing how I desperately needed extra storage in my bedroom. My nightstands were just two-drawer small little things that didn't hold much. I went to Ikea and found the Rast 3 drawer chest that would be the perfect size to replace my current nightstands while offering a little more storage space. The best part? Being able to finish it however I wished!
Here's how the Rast dresser looks when you buy it. Well, not assembled of course :)
And after! I decided to make it into an faux apothecary cabinet type nightstand. This helped add a ton of interest and well, a little masculinity to my otherwise frilly bedroom.
To get the faux three drawer look, I took my router and routed two lines on each drawer.
After painting and staining, I then added the perfect hardware to each faux drawer.
The height of this dresser is perfect for a nightstand also. And I'm a sucker for apothecary cabinets...now I got one for the cost of an Ikea dresser rather than a couple hundred bucks ;)
