Give Thanks Thanksgiving Mantel

Today I’m sharing my “Give Thanks” themed Thanksgiving Mantel with you. If you’ve been following along I already had decorated my Mantel with a Fall theme but wanted to change it up and give it a more “thankful” feel. This was pretty easy and very inexpensive (as in free) as I used stuff I already had at home.
I used my old shutter and took the white pumpkins I had painted (these were the dollar store orange pumpkins if you remember), and cut them in half. I did something similar with the pumpkins when I made the Fall Pumpkin Wreath here.
I always think about what I have in my home before I go out and buy all new holiday décor items and here's some of the things I had. Fun Fabric, Dollar Store Pumpkins and you can paint them different colors ever year if you like, book pages and some fall themed branches would all go into this mantel.
I drew the letters GIVE free hand, on paper, traced them onto the pumpkins and painted the letters with brown craft paint.

I pulled pinecones and added them into the birdcage and a pretty white candle and If you remember I found the pretty fall pinecone and twigs garland for $4.95 on a Tuesday Treasures here and used it on my Fall wreath on my door and used it here and also under my white pumpkin in the frame too.
For the banner I used some fun Pottery Barn Animal Print Fabric I had. If you know me you know I LOVE animal print and use it in small doses in my home and larger doses in my wardrobe….lol.
I love all the creative things people do with book pages so I thought it would be fun to use them for the leaves.
Any chance I can add some candles it’s always a little prettier and a little nicer, right?
Ok so here’s what I did:

I took the dollar store pumpkins and cut them in half with a serrated knife. I love these things and bought 6 of them this year and had 4 from last year.
There are 8 more steps are so and pictures on the blog for you. As a blogger I love for you to come on over and visit, it's how I get my kudos or pats on the back so come on over by clicking on the link and you'll also be able to see our house tour, recipes and loads of other crafts and diy.
There are so many great ways to decorate your mantel or entry way to jazz it up for the upcoming holiday. I hope this gave you a little inspiration and I know for me it will be a wonderful reminder to always count my blessings.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day, Lisa
