Japanese Garden in West Linn Oregon

We were presented with the ruins of a wonderful Japanese garden. Could it be salvaged? The mature landscape renovation definitely provides challenges, but we feel phase 1 has this garden back on it's way to beauty.
A dry garden, 100's of new plants, 2 weeks of hand pruning, setting boulders, a fire pit, and a renovated water feature are just some of the elements we addressed.

The front entry dry garden is wide and bright, leading people to the front door. The contorted pine is one of 9 specimens we planted here.

Bluestone slabs lead across a gravel feature to an informal path.

This boulder was basically buried under bark dust and ground cover. We precision set it with braided cables, not even harming the moss!

The fire pit area consists of a gravel patio, stone fire pit, and basalt seat wall.

The water feature was hardly functioning- it now roars and is ready for koi.

The cedar screen softens a long stretch of garage wall. This style of screen has to be installed with precision. Your eye easily picks up any mistakes in the horizontal slats.

A large moss covered stone is paired with a fantastic Japanese laceleaf maple.
