  • The cheep is to simply fill with soil and grass. But because the ground is already been leveled for the pool, this is the ideal time to place patio stones or create a sitting area and surround it with plants and walkway.

Hometalk is full of ideas for resourceful ways of doing things, so I think you should first decide what would give you the most use of that space.

And a picture of the open space would be nice so that we can see how you are going to be viewing the space.

Economically speaking from my point of view would be to make sort of an outdoor sitting area, with fall coming to your area. You can look for thrift store buys to enable your dream. Alot of home outdoor projects are coming to a close up there, so look around. They can mismatched and painted to bring them together or a discount fabric. I put one together out here after Hurricane Ivan took out a pool here. I found pieces of cement ( you need ppl to help you move) and found lots of stuff ppl no longer needed on the side of the road that didn't match anymore. I also used tulle I had lying around for the mosquito netting. It was a decent place to eat and chill in between picking up, especially since we went without electricity for so long.

My family member took theirs down. Most are leveled with sand, if that's the case, make a brick patio. He also built a gazebo on it. Beautiful!

I wish I could see a picture. A lady I know made her pool into a sunken garden feature in her yard. It is incredibly beautiful and her yard is regularly featured on garden tours.
