Vintage Coffee Pot Wind Chimes

A while ago I bought this $1 coffee pot and I knew I wanted to somehow use it for a wind chimes project. I love its vintage patina. First, I thought I would hang small cutlery from the bottom, but I've seen that done before. I wanted to come up with something new. New to me at least.
Vintage Coffee Pot Wind Chimes. Small Christmas Bells are tied to fishing line and are poured from the coffee pot spout into a lovely cup and saucer held up by a green bottle covered stake.

Did you have to drill a hole in the coffee cup to attach it to the bells? If so, did you use a porcelain bit?
