hardwood flooring, adding to a room that already has a room attached with hardwoods

We are wanting to add hardwoods to a open floor plan room that houses the kitchen / breakfast nook, and family room. The family room portion adjoins a room already in hardwood that serves as the main/ more formal dinning area. should wood match? Same Color? Same size boards? What do you all think?

Is there an actual door between the family room and the dining room? If not, I would say you should get hardwood flooring that matches your existing floors.

Yep, match it. If you can't get an exact match, you may want to consider sanding the refinishing everything the same color.
