Create Children's Christmas Ornaments From Milk and Soda Lids

I miss when my kids were in elementary and even middle school. The memories that live in the ornaments and crafts the kids made over a span of 18 years is priceless. Even though my youngest is now 17, I still like coming up with ideas for kids projects (and miss doing this as a room mom for many years).
This project took a month or so to come to me. It all started with an idea to upcycle the lids that go in the garbage can instead of recycling. You know all those milk, soda, Gatorade, and other small lids that end up in the trash because they cannot recycle them yet.
My husband, again, thought I was nuts but I knew something creative could be made out of the lids...
So out came the glitter, glue, twine, and other baubles I had in my craft room...I experimented with glues and came up with these ideas. I showed a neighbor and teacher and she instantly fell in love. I know how important all the handmade ornaments are to me that my kids made years ago. Sometimes I wish my kids were little again so they could make me more treasures. Anyhow...
I hope this idea starts something new- what a great Christmas ornament to hang on the tree each year to remind you of the best times...I may even make some pet ornaments to hang on the tree.
