Changing Button Covers to Magnets for Embellishments

Remember when button covers were popular? Not so much anymore, but, now they're easy to find at thrift stores and flea markets. I picked up this collection for $3 at a local thrift store. I knew there was something I could do with them!
For this project, I decided to use these five but actually ended up only needing four of them!
This is the back of the button cover. Please forgive my blurry picture! Old age is affecting my steadiness!
I pried off the button cover with a sharp knife.
Which was very easy since these covers were just glued on!
Then, I hot glued on a magnet to the back of the button.
This is where I decided to use them! This lamp shade is in the center of my living room and you see this seam when you enter the front door! I don't like the look of seams!!!
So, I added the magnet button to the shade by attaching another magnet in the inside of the shade! Very easy and simple to do!
I love how it makes the lamp shade seem more complete!
Imagine the possibilities! I just purchased some rhinestone buttons that I'm working on right now!!!! For more information, please visit my blog at http://twelveoaksmanor.com
