If you have family members who get bloody noses often, you need to know this trick to remove blood from carpet or furniture quickly and completely.
Use peroxide to saturate the stain. Only use as much as you need to wet the stain.

Blot it with a paper towel. Be sure not to rub the blood stain. That will damage the carpet fibers.
In the photo above, you can see the carpet is still a bit wet, but the stain itself is gone.
Peroxide cleans blood from clothing, upholstered furniture, and carpeting. It's best to clean it when it is fresh, but I've had success with dried blood, too.

I'll have to try this on the blood stain that was left after we killed a coral snake on our bedroom carpet. Sneaky critter.

I cared for my mother for several years and she was on blood thinner. A nurse gave me this tip and it works wonders to remove blood stains. I keep it in my laundry room in a dark container spray bottle. I do add a squirt or two of Dawn to the peroxide. Spray front and back of stain (if possible) and let set for at least 15 minutes before washing.
