DIY Peppermint Plates

Here it is, one of my favorite Christmas crafts! It's super fun. It's totally gorgeous. And it's really easy. Check it out!
My daughter and I have made these peppermint plates two years in a row now. Let me tell you ..... Santa loves getting his cookies on a peppermint plate
To start this project you need a lot of mints. I found the Starlite mints work best for this project and they have the nicest color when baked.
You will also need one of these silicone molds or a Silpat and baking sheet.
Use peppermint sticks to create square plates
They keep pretty well for a couple months as long as you don't stack them and keep them in a dry cool place.

Head over to Lilyshop for the full tutorial.

I think this 'plate' is meant to be used for only a short while, or for one Christmas, rather than storing it and keeping it until subsequent years.

We made the mints into ornaments, they actually lasted a couple years!, layered them in wax paper,& stored in my chilly basement.
