Transforming a Blah Playroom Into Paradise With a Beach Mural

My son's room has a finished room over the garage (FROG) that serves as his playroom. It's great because we can just shut the door and the mess is contained! But it was very dull, drab and dark when we first moved in. I wanted to liven up the space with a mural, and I decided to build him a beach paradise! My friend Allison, who is also handy with a paintbrush, came down from Minnesota to Alabama and we knocked this mural out in one weekend!
I was so happy with the way it turned out. The shape of the back wall just screamed for a beach shack, complete with real wooden windows and fabric curtains on the inside. Everything else is created with paint! For a few more tips and tricks on how to paint large scale murals on walls, please feel free to visit my blog post on the link provided! :)

Thanks so much Miriam! :) He will play in there for hours! It's a great spot when we have playdates and parties, too. All his friends gather in there and destroy that room, and I just shut the door afterwards! :)

Has he had to shoo you back to the house so HE can use the newly decorated space? Beautiful!
