Tiny Guestroom!

7 X 10 - that's all I had to work with to create a guest room - 70 square feet is tiny - surely too tiny to accommodate a double bed - a dresser - an end table AND an armoire? Nah - anything is possible after all. The room configuration allowed for a bed nook - which took care of having to place it in the middle of the room (it couldn't have happened)
A curtain panel (made out of a duvet hung with clips) defines the space and allowed me to place furniture on the other side.
It's small - there's no escaping that - but it works for it's purpose - which is to offer friends and family a place to lay their head when visiting. More photos on the blog!
Reading lamps above the bed were a necessity since I couldn't place an end table on either side - IKEA - 8.99 each.

The art work was made from an empty frame - with fence planks attached to the back - and a mirror added for a little glitz.
A small console table acts as place to keep magazines - a basket to keep " catch all's "

and somewhere to put a glass of water or cup of tea.

I chose the console table because it's smaller in " depth " than a regular end table (which would have stuck out too much for the room's footprint)
In a space that could easily have been a closet or a bathroom I created a tiny guest room retreat. You can't dance in it . You can't even move around too much in it. But you can certainly curl up in the nook and have a good night's sleep!

All I can say is Wow! From the before to the after is such a beautiful journey. I love it and am inspired. (Not that I want any rooms that small, but you give hope for turning problem areas into beautiful solutions.)
