Does a Stainless sink work with oil rubbed bronze faucet?

My daughter and I had this discussion. I felt it would be fine but the more I pondered it I was no longer confident. What do you think?

I have seen this go both ways...personally I like the look of oil rubbed bronze with white porcelain. (this is what I have in my master bath). In the kitchen the stainless sink is paired with a stainless faucet...another option is brushed nickel.

I think it's really all a matter of personal preference. Some like mixed metals some like them all to match. We have a stainless steel kitchen sink with a chrome faucet. Actually all our faucets are chrome on our 8 year old home. Though I like the look of oil rubbed bronze I wanted classic chrome in our home.

I would first ask - what color is the granite? :) If it has a multitude of color variations that work with both colors, it works well. Post/share a photo!

The countertop is a black laminate with pale gold flecks that look like mica. Budget wouldn't allow granite but may be changed in a few years as money becomes available. If so it will be basically the same look. Cabinets are vanilla with chocolate glaze.

What color is the cabinet hardware?

Becky-haven't purchased yet but will probably be dark. Orb or black.

If counter tops are black - I would recommend stainless, hands down. ORB does not look well on solid black

My suggestion Marianne, would be to buy a sample of each metal possibility in door hardware to bring home and see which you like best.

I'll back becky sue on this...with lot of dark counter...stainless or a brushed nickel

That would be my preference too, but thought Marianne could tell better by having samples of each in her home. Sometimes the only way to convince myself, or at times my hubby, is to see it in person in our own lighting.

She went with crime faucets. I agree that the ORB wouldn't work but her dh wanted them. Wife wins again! Thanks everyone!

Yay! Glad she won. LOL Sorry hubby... What are crime faucets? OH! Did you mean chrome?
