The Tiffany lamp was left in the house by previous owner. It's in great shape but doesn't blend-in anywhere since we renovated. I have no idea of it's value. Hoping someone can give me some idea of what to ask for it. Thanks again for your help.

There are some websites for Tiffany Style lamp fixtures and lamps. That would be a good starting place.

If the lamp is a true Tiffany , signed by then it has a value in the hundreds

Beautiful. Someone old gave me a beautiful pink and white one that i cherish. So for years i always look at them at antique shops, etc. So a smaller hanging one in Ellington, Florida in a red barn type antique store that they only wanted 15.00 for. I wanted it so bad but didnt have the 15 bucks. When i went back it was gone. Yours is beautiful. Give it to some one you love.

Most likely it is NOT Tiffany. The construction and basic design are not true Tiffany. My guess is it is not much older than the '60s of '70s...not 1860s or 1870s.

@Swan Road Designs Absolutely - the colours, the large pieces - in the late 70's, Wendy's Hamburgers decor had these. Very popular.

Whatever you decide, I would love the chance to purchase it for a reasonable price. I had a 3 tier, inverted tiffany style. ceiling fan w/lights that I refuse to part with but cannot find a "hanging" tiffany style light to go over our dinner table. This is one matches perfectly. They must be from the same decorating decade. Please let me know what you decide. I'm Carol Argo Denmark on Facebook!! My email address is cadenmark@yahoo.com Thanks

We have the same light. We had them installed when we built our house in 1989. Not Tiffany . Live in New Hampshire if anyone wants it

@Jane Hi Jane, do you remember how much you paid for yours?
  • Jane Jane on Nov 17, 2014
We paid about 189.00 at the time we got to pick out colors of glass and there are little flower between the clear glass. We also had a ceiling fan added. It was in our kitchen over the table.

Would you be interestered in making this into a lamp? I bought a house that had one in it but with shades of blue. I took it to a lamp repair place, and picked out a base and now it sits upstairs in a bedroom with a blue quilt.

Real original Tiffany glass shades had copper foil between the glass. My Great Grand Father worked for LC Tiffany as a glass chemist and we have some still in the family from odd batches of test glass. The shade here is nice but mass produced with what we call "lead caning"--this is a heavier and thicker piece that is made to hold the glass in channels on either side of the center solid area. Think of two "U" shaped pieces put together back to back. This is limited as to how much it can bend and how thick the glass is. Copper foil is much harder to work with and can join much smaller pieces of glass; this is a thin sheet of copper that the artist wraps around the glass edges and solders together. Takes lots of skill and practice to learn. Has been used for centuries along with lead canes. IF you just don't like the colors there are glass paints you can use. These were everywhere back in the 70's and 80's after Tiffany was "re-discovered". Some very early Tiffany and other art glass was not marked; if you think you have a "find" take it to a reputable place to find out what it is. Some Tiffany items sell in the millions.

This was left by our previous homeowner and I am wondering if there is any interest to see it or how much to sell it for. Thank you!
