Dino-Advent! Make This Dinosaur Advent Calendar

What do dinosaurs have to do with Advent? Absolutely nothing! But they're really fun, even more so when made glittery, so I used them to make this activity-a-day Advent calendar for my kids.
First I ordered two dozen plastic dinosaurs from Oriental Trading Company. Then I got together a few different shades of blue spray paint, some silver spray paint, and Krylon's glitter blast to go over everything for extra festiveness. I laid out all the dinosaurs on some newspaper, and gave them their makeovers. The glitter blast worked great with the blue paint, but didn't mix well with the silver. Fortunately, the silver paint was already plenty shiny.
I bought a bunch of little envelopes from the craft store, wrote numbers on them, and tucked an activity (like "make Christmas cookies" or "drink hot cocoa" or "play Christmas pictionary") into each one.
And then I laid out the envelopes and put a dinosaur on top of each one. Honestly, the dinosaurs are completely non-functional here; practically speaking, I could have accomplished the same thing by just putting the envelopes in a pile on the table.
But it wouldn't have been nearly as much fun nor as glittery! Get more details at:
