Rag light garland

You will need a set of light. I used LED mini style 20 count. Homespun fabric or any fabric you prefer, scissors, ruler and plenty of patience.
Cut your fabric into 1 inch by 6 inch strips. Amount of strips depends on how long your light string is. When you have a good amount of strips cut start tying the strands in between your lights. I put 5 strands in between each light. You want them close enough together so you don't see the wire. Continue until you have reached the end of the light strand. After the last light I didn't go all the way to the plug. I added 5 more strips to end it.
This is my finishing project! Love it!!!!
Now with th plugged in!!! Can't wait to make more!

When the lights stop working you'd have to untie each strip of fabric and re-tie them on a new string of lights. Instead, tie the strips onto the poly twine from Dollar Tree or something similar and just slip an opening in the twine/rope over each light after you've tied all the fabric strips onto it (the openings probably won't be tight enough if you do it before you tie the fabric on). Then if you need to replace the string of lights, it's very easy and quick to just take the lights out of the poly twine/rope and slip it over the new lights.
