    You can try using a plant that insects tend to dislike. A few I'm considering for my yard are lemongrass and lantana. Also, gnats tend to not like citronella scented anything. Other than that, try an all natural bug spray or device that is safe for you and your family. Gnats, like most other flying insects, do not like wind. So have a ceiling fan or other outdoor air moving device to help cool you and discourage those little bugs. Over time you will get used to the gnats. Good luck!

  • Some golfers keep vanilla extract in their bags. I am told that it keeps gnats away and doesn't smell as bad as the insecticide sprays.
