WHAT CAN WE DO TO CHANGE CABINETS FINISHED WITH A LIGHT STAIN TO LOOK LIKE THE DISTRESSED MEDIUM WHITE CABINETS?

HOW DO WE REMOVE THE FINISH AND THEN WHAT DO WE DO TO HAVE THE NEW PAINT ADHERE TO THE CABINETS?

    I recommend using Rust-o-leum's Cabinet Transformation kit. You can see how I transformed my cabinets with it. I used their dark kit, but they make a light kit also which would be perfect for your situation. http://www.sandandsisal.com/2011/10/painted-cabinets.html

    If you're painting over the original stain, you can do a light sanding, then clean the entire surface with TSP (tri sodium phosphate) & hot water prior to applying a primer then your paint. Remember, light coats, let dry, repeat. I haven't tried the product Kim suggested, but I'm sure I will sometime in the future.
