An overgrown garden challenge

by Allison Whitehead
This was our snowy garden at night a couple of winters back. I am now clearing the back of it - all the growth you can see was taking over the rear 10 metres or so of the garden! It's tough doing it on your own, but immensely rewarding and very good exercise too. Is anyone else as daft as I am in tackling something this big alone?!

Allison, I know the feeling. Only got to two of my smaller beds this year before I retired and left the big one for after retirement. Unfortunately we had extremely hot temperatures with no rain for weeks so wasn't able to get to the larger on which is the biggest challenge :P Will make that a priority early next year as the weather cooperates since I will have all the time in the world then. Looking forward to seeing update and seasonal photos of your yard - I am in Canada, so there are temperature challenges as to what I can do.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. We defied the weather to get out and lay a shed base yesterday so we really feel as if we're getting ahead now. We had a huge downpour yesterday afternoon, but it actually did me a favour as I was able to go out and aerate the lawn today - another job ticked off! I'm determined to get some grass growing in between the weeds and moss! lol I'll keep you all updated - I took some pics yesterday so I'll have some more to share soon.
