can you post a pic of your style of gutter gaurds...there are many out there. Once we see what type of obstacles you have we can figure out an answer.
  • I had the same issue with my gutter guards also. What I ended up doing which sense then has made my holiday decorations go up so much faster was to install tiny brass, not steel cup hooks under the fascia (this is the flat board that the gutters are fastened to) at about every foot length apart. I used a tiny drill to make it easy to do. By pre-drilling the holes the hooks went right in. Prior to installing them, I sprayed them white to match the board so to hide them when there not being used. Then I simply place the wires over the hooks, and use a few twist ties to keep the wires from coming off. Up fast and down just as fast. Using these hooks also allow me to hang flags, Halloween decorations and other seasonal goodies. They do however make universal plastic hangers that will hook over the gutter guards, but they break quite easy and really only last about one season if that long.

Actually we do have cup hooks on the fascia. And it works if you don't mind the storm door catching the lights every time you open the door. I was hoping to still attach the lights to the gutters to avoid that. The gutter guard is mesh and it goes right up to the edge of the gutter so there is no way to use gutter clips

way back when my girls you very small, I had some "safety" netting installed along the lower edge of my deck railing. For that install i used some stainless steel "cup hook" type hooks.

There are clips & a pole sold at Home Depot that will work with the gutter guards. I use these clips every year & it's very simple.
