I'd like to cover up the tile to make the wall look nicer. Any ideas?

Curious to know how that got there! Probably have to dig it out with a chisel.

Is the rest of the wall made of real stone or man-made stone? If it's the latter, then it's easy to chisel off the blue tiles and replace them with standard-size pieces that match the stone in the rest of the wall. You might also need to replace a few other pieces if the new pieces aren't an exact match, just so the two new ones won't stand out like sore thumbs!

Paint the blue tiles the same colour as the rest of the wall. Use flat paint, so there is no gloss.

If I painted it like you said, would it look stupid if I tried to stencil something on it? Would that even work?

a bigger picture would help...I can't tell if that's just a wall, or if it attaches to a fireplace or what. But there are so many things you can do, some good ideas already...another option is to create a gallery wall, maybe one large piece and some smaller ones around it to cover that random small chunk of tile on the upper right. Same thing would work with a mirror collection. Just be sure to cut out paper templates so you know exactly where things are going before putting anchors into the stone. Actually, putting anchors into the grout is easier, then you can easily patch if needed. You could also create some kind of sculpture made from wood, or a wooden sign, if you like the rustic/natural look. Check pinterest for "wood wall art" or "wood wall decor". Basically, your options are: remove it, paint it, cover it up with something else.

Thanks, it is just a wall. It's not attached to anything. I will check interest I haven't done that yet. The middle one is 58" wide so it has been hard to find a picture that I like in the detentions. I will continue looking. Thanks :)

Could you have a personalised print made for the wall? A favourite photo done on a canvas? Would cover a multitude of sins....and you could have it panoramic or landscape orientation so you get the width without the height

Same stone as my fireplace!! I see you even have a little shelf--I have 3 at different heights. So far I have sanded the brass fire screen and sprayed with black high heat paint. It looks so much better but I still can't figured out what to do with the stones. Darken the mortar or paint/stain the whole thing??

I see a shelf to the far right close to the smaller of the two blue areas. My thought is the other two could have been shelves and the stone somehow got chipped or broken so they removed them and filled it with mosaic tile to be artistic. Could you share a photo of the room as a whole to give a better idea of your decor style and the bones of the rest of the room please?

Hide it behind a mantel shelf or have a custom sized panoramic picture put right over the top of it. If they are glass, use a dremel tool to score along the grout lines and pop them out. I really like Becky's idea of stenciling right over the top of them.

I have tile on my fireplace that was an ugly teal and I just painted over it. In that small of an area that is not high traffic you could use all purpose craft paints for metal, wood, and glass and it will cure when left on for a few weeks. It wouldn't take much paint to cover them right over.

Thanks:) I think I am going to go with painting it. I am trying to do it in the least expensive way, that seams to be it. I wonder if after I paint it if I could paint a stencil over it too. Just to dress it up a bit. Or do u think that would look tacky

So put your stencil on and if you don't like it later you can always paint over it again right?

    Not sure about stencils...

You can paint the stone the base colour of the other stone and very lightly and with watered down paint (another shade from the stone) sponge it on or dry brush it and blend. It will cover easily. If the tile is really shiny use a high adherent primer first. You can buy sample sizes of all colours. They go a very long way.
