Junkin Christmas 2014

I'm happy to leave e-cards and online shopping to others. I'm happiest creating Christmas from altered cards to canning and baking - and, of course, junking!
Wood handrail from a tear down commercial building becomes the "centrepeace" of this holiday vignette. Star of vintage schoolroom rulers.
An antique colander filled with holiday greens and candle.
When I found this antique sprinkler on a garbage pile at a local construction site I was so excited I ran all the way home. But it's been sitting around waiting for inspiration to strike. And this morning it did - it's a fabulous, unique outdoor candle holder.
I'm pretty committed to mobilizing all the items in my stash of roadside rescues and similar (thrifting treasures, attic and cellar raids). Keep checking back here and on my blog for new posts decoration and upcycled decoration decoration
