Holly Leaf Garland Made From Textured Wallpaper

I have so enjoyed my autumn book page leaf garland in the kitchen...that I've been reluctant to take it down. I wanted to create something similar, beautiful and seasonal for Christmas.

I had the idea to recreate the look of holly leaves.

I studied the various shapes of holly leaves and how they grow on the branches...I was inspired by the full look and wanted to find a way to mimic that.

The solution turned out to be the simple chenille stems! These worked beautifully to recreate the branches to support the faux holly leaves.

I loved the look of the Poinsettia I created for my Coffee Filter Wreath with textured wallpaper. This turned out to be perfect for the holly leaves - the paper curved naturally for each leaf. I cut and grouped three leaves with hot glue then attached a decorative ball found at Hobby Lobby (along with most of the other supplies). I attached these three-leaf groupings at the tip of the chenille stem branch.

I attached my holly leaf garland to the archway between the dining room and the living room with small command hooks. At the top of the archway I created a holly branch cluster.
