Something Old, Something New

Here at Vintage Mama's Cottage we've been refashioning all kinds of things for a very long time! Even when I was a little girl, my mama would buy a ladies' coat from our local thrift shop and cut it up to make a new coat for me to wear in the winter.
So, refashioning has been part of my creative perspective all of my life!
As a quilter, I just couldn't resist the opportunity to turn my thrifted sweater collection into a patchwork design. This one is all in shades of purple, but there are lots of others where this one came from!
These patchwork sweater coats are also a great way to incorporate those little bits of leftover lace, ribbons, and fabric, and a solo button here and there will add a little dash of whimsy!
The best part of creating refashioned projects . . . . there is no "right" or "wrong" way to put it together. Whatever colors, designs, styles, textures, or prints that you like, just go ahead and put them all together. After all, it's YOUR project, right?
