Altered Readers Digest Books

Easy
Turn your old books into unique Christmas decor using this easy technique. Any kind of books will do, even paperback books will work. The images I used are from the Graphics Fairy website.
I started with an old Readers Digest book...
The first step is to cover the book with 2 coats of gesso.
When the gesso dries, cover the book with Mod Podge. Then lay the image that you have printed out from your computer face down onto the book. Press paper down, then peel up.
Add dark wax to give the book an aged appearance.
Finish it off with a little glitter to make it sparkle.

Love this! Am going to try this. Just a regular ink jet printer works?
