Our "New" Kitchen
Welcome to our new kitchen! We loved this space when we first saw it and couldn't wait to settle in and make it our own!
BEFORE. Beautiful hardwood floors, birch cabinets and granite countertops. If you love dark cabinets, you might not want to look at the next picture.
AFTER! I know many of you are shocked that I painted our perfectly good, brand new cabinets, BUT, I just couldn't help myself (oops).
BEFORE: My husband was sweet enough (with the help of our neighbor) to remove one of the cabinets so that I could put up shelves instead!
AFTER! I love having shelves to display goodies, and these shelves we made from inexpensive wood and corbels from Home Depot were just what we wanted. I also painted our backsplash, too, until we eventually add bead board.
I also painted our kitchen doors black, just to give them a bit more "presence," too!
For a bit of interest, I dressed up "faux" door fronts with inexpensive "scrolls" from Lowe's.
We also replaced door knobs with these pretty pulls (also from Lowe's).
Our island got a bit of a makeover as well ... I painted it Annie Sloane's "Chateaux Grey" and added farmhouse legs, too. "One" day, we'll add a butcher block top.
Love, LOVE our kitchen's "crowning jewels" (thanks to Home Depot and their beyond reasonably priced chandeliers)!

Wholly moley, can I please just say what a beautiful and gorgeous reno this was. As builder grade as it was from the beginning and still nice, this is def, taking it to another level in the most elegant, charming, homey and beautifully laid out way!! I am most definitely inspired and in awe. Congrats, may this cont to make you smile as family gathers, memories are made and deliciousness is served!
