Have chores ever taken a backburner? We get it – sometimes life gets in the way. And after a few weeks of ignoring the cleaning calendar, the amount of work it could take to be dust-mite free seems daunting. Who has a full afternoon to spare?
Stop the cycle of mess! To clean quickly, utilize cleaning hacks. They’re quick, they’re easy, and your home will be healthier (which makes you happier, right?).
Here are a few of our favorite quick cleaning hacks:
Hacks for the Kitchen:

1. Clean Your Microwave with Lemons

Put 1 cup of water and a 5 lemon slices in a microwave-safe bowl, and heat the bowl for 3 – 5 minutes on high. Carefully remove the bowl of water and wipe down the inside of the microwave with a warm, damp sponge.
2. Remove Rust with Aluminum Foil

To remove rust, tear off a small square of aluminum foil. Ball up the foil and then dip the ball in water. Then, start rubbing the rust away
3. Clean a Greasy Pan with Vinegar and Baking Soda

Fill the greasy pan with water, add 1 cup of white vinegar and bring it to a simmer. Let the pan simmer for 20 minutes, and then remove it from heat. Immediately add 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Drain the water and scrub the grease away.

4. Clean your Blender with Soapy Water

Before you let smoothie remnants harden, fill your blender halfway with warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Run your blender until clean and then rinse with clean water. Tip: To clean the blender’s blades, add ice to the mixture. The ice coats the blades, so gunk is easier to wipe away.

Hacks for the Living Room:

1. Remove Grease Stains with Chalk

Apply white chalk to grease stains and let it sit for about 5 minutes while it absorbs the oil. Wipe the chalk away with a wet rag and see the results. Tip: This works on clothes, too!
2. Pick Up Pet Hair with a Rubber Glove

Wear a moist, rubber, dishwashing glove and run your hand across your fur-covered or carpet or furniture. The glove will pull furballs right up!

3. Clean your Television with a Dryer Sheet

Dirt is drawn to your computer and television screens because of static electricity. To stop the cling, grab a dryer sheet. They’ll wipe away dust and reduce the static electricity on screens (just like they reduce static electricity on your shirts.)
Hacks for the Bathroom

1. Clean Your Air Vent with a Butter Knife

Cover a butter knife with a towel soaked in an all-purpose cleaner. Use the butter knife to clean between the grate’s slivers. The moist towel will trap dust, so you can breathe free.

2. Fix a Slow Drain with Alka Seltzer

Drop 4 alka seltzer tablets and 1 cup of white vinegar down the drain. After 10 minutes, pour a tea pot of boiling water down to rinse. Clog, gone!

3. Clean Copper with a Lemon

If your copper needs a quick shine, grab 1 lemon and some salt. Microwave your lemon for ten seconds, and then cut it in half. Dip the juicy side of the lemon into the salt, then vigorously rub your copper. The stains will disappear and your copper will shine like a new penny!
