Christmas Porch Festive Bucket Decorations

9 Materials
We love getting inspiration for seasonal decorating from Pinterest and blogs and when we saw a trio of pots filled with greenery and Christmas decorations lining the edge of a porch, we knew that idea would look great on our open porch. And we knew just how to put our own 'Cabin Christmas' spin on it - by using 5 gallon buckets!
Not only do we love how they turned out, they were quick and the only cost was for the new buckets (but if you have some already, this could be completely free, using what you have!).
Decor Porch
Aren't they cute? Take a look at how we transformed lowly buckets into show-stopping porch decor:
We sprayed the buckets red to coordinate with our Cabin Christmas porch theme. Green, silver, gold, or any color that coordinates with your decor would work, too.
We placed bricks in the bottom for weight and a wood divider near the top (optional) and to take up the space. You could use sand or stones as well.
We acquired greenery for free from Home Depot! Just ask if you can have the cuttings which they are going to discard. Then we gathered other natural items and ornaments.
Here's a close-up of how festive our buckets look from the top. It's fun how awesome these natural elements (and ornaments) look together on our porch!
After arranging the greenery we placed pine cones, osage oranges, and ornaments on top of the branches and finished with holiday ribbons around the tops of the buckets. This was such an easy & inexpensive project and they add so much holiday curb appeal, too!

Why did u not put sticks or something into the ingredients laying on the top of the greenery? U can not see what is inside until u r standing above and looking into the bucket.

Looks good. Instead of fresh greenery I am going to recycle. I will use the old "limbs" from my mothers old fake tree that is in the shed. Thanks for sharing. I am going to add pine cones with the ornaments.
