I bought a set of plain water glasses at a yard sale for $5 then turned them into something unique and special in 5 minutes!
Deer Silhouette Etched Glass w/ Dremel Micro
I had the most fun with this project. I think it's probably my favorite project EVER. I was so nervous to try it, but after I finally went for it had this beautiful etched glass in minutes.

First I printed out a template and taped it to the inside of my glasses. I had originally planned for a snowflake pattern, but I couldn't find a template that looked like what I had in my mind. Then I ran across these deer silhouettes and instantly fell in love with the idea.
Use Dremel Micro to etch custom designs
After that the Dremel Micro did all the work. It's much easier than you'd think and because of the pencil grip on the tool feels a lot like tracing and coloring in the lines.
Here's my first attempt. Not bad, right! The little lines actually suite the deer making it look like fur. My husband timed me and said I got this done in 5 minutes.
Each silhouette got easier and I was able to etch out the middle more completely. This was my final etching. The middle doesn't have the streaks that the first did. I LOVE these!

What a cute idea

I've been using a diamond crusted bit (engraver) in my dremel for glass etching . I find it gives me more control & more uniform etching. I've etched on thin wine glasses without any problems. So far, that is.
