A Quick, Cheap Rustic Burlap Christmas Tree

These little styrofoam trees are all over Pinterest. This one is so easy, quick and CHEAP! Mine was less than $3.00!
Start with a Styrofoam tree base (mine was from the Dollar Tree), straight pins (Dollar Tree again) an your choice of burlap colors.
Fold your pieces of burlap in half and use a pin to attach to the base, beginning at the bottom. Alternate colors as you progress up the foam base.
I actually used a burlap striped ribbon and found it was actually much easier to work with than the burlap.
Here is my completed tree (with a little star) on my Hoosier cabinet as part of my hot chocolate bar. I think it's the perfect touch!

There are lots of ways to make this your own! Head over to my blog, Lessons From The Lake, to get more detailed instructions.

Hope you have fun making a little rustic burlap Christmas tree of your on!

Hi Caroline. I saved your tree design last year. Love it!!! What size do you cut the ribbon? Thanks for your help and have a great Holiday season.

@Julie Smith-Roof - you should! it is so easy and you can personalize it by the colors you choose. I made another one from just the ribbon and it was even easier than the one shown. Be sure and post a photo of yours if you make one. I would love to see it!
