A Tree for the Birds & DIY Bird Seed Treats

I decorated a tree for the birds with bird seed treats, an easy and fun project that kids will enjoy, along with your feathered friends!
In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the season, I’m taking a little time out for some advent and nesting fun! My inspiration took flight from my Birds of a Feather Advent Calendar.
Bird seed treats are easy to make and mold into just about any shape. I used an assortment of cookie cutters as molds for these treats.
Mix flour, water, gelatin and corn syrup in a large mixing bowl. Stir in birdseed, coating the seed with the flour mixture.
Spray your cookie cutters with nonstick spray. Spoon mixture into molds, adding a straw for a hole to hang your treat.
Hang on your tree with twine, enjoy the decorations, while feeding the birds too!
