I think the same color yellow as your wall would look pretty.Make sure you use an enamel paint (or waterborne alkyd paint) although the chalk paint may work out without priming which would be a big plus.I was at a friends house last night, she had her cabinets painted a light green and they looked gorgeous.I also like painting certain cabinets in a different color,it looks like built in furniture pieces,I am seeing that trend a lot.

I love that color combo too. I'm in the process of doing my kitchen those same colors as we speak.

I also have pale yellow walls and want to paint the REALLY dark wood cabinets. I chose yellow a shade lighter than the walls and a pale green in the same range.. I want to paint the cupboards green, the doors and drawer fronts yellow and then stencil them with the green to tie it all together. I love green but am trying to keep it in check :-) I think yellow and white would be very attractive too! Keeps it airy and light.

@Deb I still haven't decided on colors. What is the brand name of paint and the exact names of the colors you chose. They sound very pretty.

Is your kitchen open to other areas? Do you see your family room, or dining area from the kitchen? If so, maybe a color that would flow with the other areas? Depending on your preference, yellow is such a cheery color and looks beautiful with so many other colors. Maybe a photo or two if you have one?

@Judy F I know, it's overwhelming. Here's what I learned about greys. you have to look at each one and follow the color down the spectrum to the bottom color to see which color family that color stems from. some are blue, green, brown etc. I went with greys that were as close to a white or neutral base. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams have some really good cool tones. I went with more cools than warms. I know it's hard. I'm still narrowing the colors down and I've been doing this for months! :)

Go with white and accent with colour.

WHITE for sure, clean and crisp and will not clash.

Since you have white appliances, go with white cabinets on the bottom and do the green up top. By using white with the appliances, you have a "continuous" look that is not broken up by the appliances.

How about white cabinets on the bottom and pale gray on top? BTW, what color are the countertops?

I would go an olive green with a medium brown glaze in the crevices (if you have any, not sure of the style of your cupboards

Perhaps the upper cabinets could be white and the bottom cabinets Grays Harbor from Sherwin Williams. See Domestic Imperfection for a kitchen in those colors with yellow accents. It is beautiful.
