What color paint should I use?

I have two small chests with drawers. One is maple with a leather top. I also have a big king size bed that's white iron with some brass. I have had it for 35 years. What colors should I paint the chest? I was think dark brown "Expresso." Someday I think I would like to paint the bed as well. I am sick of country white.

Paint the chest power blue, and the bed coral . Then decorate with teal pillows and bed spread.

Are you asking what color design for the room or just the chest? I was thinking white to match the bed and some brass trim work and handles? Do you have photo's?

Give us a photo of the room so that we can match the chest(s) to the rest of the room. Something as subtle as using two different whites, one with red and one with blue, can drive some people nuts. And we sincerely want to give you a good answer.

It depends. What is your style, what is the architectural style of the room/house, and what colors are you using in the room now? Do you have a picture of the bedroom?

If you are sick of the white and plan on painting the bed I would not paint the furniture light as well. Think if you had the time and money what would you want to paint the bed. I think a antiqued galvanized grey would look lovely on the bed and to complement the bed I would do a graphite grey/black on the dressers. As much as I love accent colors, I think you should keep them to throw pillow and other accent pieces that you can easily switch out when you are bored.
