Vintage Sewing Spool Trees

I picked up a bunch of old wood sewing spools awhile back and had been struggling with what to do with them all. Then this holiday craft idea struck---make some trees out of the cute spools! I even had some old boards and rusty stars in my 'junk' stash that were the perfect addition to the idea.
Every tree is a bit different and that is what makes these funky trees so unique. Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my latest craft project---Happy Crafting!

Wood spools with labels, some with embossed branding---these are great gifts for the seamstress in all of us!

What kind of stars are you using? They don’t look like anything I’ve ever seen at a craft store. Thanks.
Thank you so much! I have many, many spools and luckily, I found the stars in question on EBAY but they are being sold by the dozen...not sure if I need 12. I would love to try to make this...can’t decide what to use though...is yours on barn wood?
