    How did you attach wood samples? I have some samples that are not grooved like yours look. And I want to make this for my grandson's medals wonderful idea of yours.

      Liquid Nails should work well. I used it on a few loose boards on our hardwood floor as you enter the front door for a temporary fix. It's been strong for over 5 years. Possibly it's a permanent fix.
