What type of chair or stool do you use while you're crafting?

Question

I am planning a craft room from a spare bedroom and need suggestions for a good chair or stool to use.  My back and shoulders start to give up on me before I'm ready to stop working on my project!  Any suggestions?

In my studio, I have three, lumbar support, adjustable 'office' type chairs on wheels and with arms, that are wide in the seat so that if I want I can sit on one leg bent without breaking one of the arms. I also have some padded Parsons chairs for my students. If you get a chair with no padding trust me your tail bone won't like it very much, and you'll not want to sit in it very long. Try a bunch out and get one that feels right for you.

I use an adjustable office chair that has rollers, w/o arms. Have been using it for over 15 yrs, very comfortable. I put an office rug protector mat down so I could just move from space to space.

I found an arm-less office chair at a garage sale. The seat and back covers were in bad condition but the seat adjuster and rollers worked fine. So with new fabric covering it is in constant use.

I found a vintage chair at a thrift store that was originally for sewing at a cabinet sewing machine that is made to be comfortable while seated for long periods. It is great for crafting. It has upolstered seat and back with removable seat for storage.

Maybe it would be best if you could get a tall stool, and alternate sitting and standing while you work. I can work a lot longer standing than sitting! If your feet hurt, get one of those cushioned mats to stand on.

I have my work area at kitchen counter height because I stand most of the time I'm working. I have a small stool on wheels which is used by an occasional student.

I acquired an office chair. Very comfy and adjustable. I recommend that over other chairs.

I found an upholstered office chair for $10 in a grayish pink, the chair was stuck at one height but it was right for me!
