Tackling the Pillowcases one Clothespin at a Time

Sick to DEATH of the linen closet falling out on you every time you open the door???? ME TOO! I was tired of literally opening the door and watching sheets crash down on me, sorting through fitted sheet after fitted sheet only to find that the size I needed was in the laundry and SICK of 1,000 pillowcases, but never a pair! Anybody relate?
So I went crazy organize on it and here is the result: http://www.anestforallseasons.com/2012/10/linen-closet.html

Over the years, I've done (& liked) both - (a) storing top & bottom sheets in the cases and (b) labeling the shelves. My linen closet still looked a mess with all the "extras" (i.e. sheets I only used for the cottage, odd sheets used when grandkids slept over on the floor, summer & winter weight blankets and so on. The linen closet was also very tiny. I finally decided to store the extra sheet set in each respective bedroom - in either a dresser drawer or on a shelf in each bedroom's closet. Another tip ... if you have sturdy closet doors (bi-folds won't work), mount a towel bar on the inside of the closet door to hang extra blankets.

The best suggestion for sheets that I ever saw was to put the folded sheets & one pillowcase inside the 2nd pillowcase, fold the ends under, and store on a shelf. No mess, no clutter, no falling apart, no searching for matching pillowcases. It works beautifully, and makes so much sense.

I have a huge array of all shades of blue so I mix and match. Pillow cases get folded on their own because they may not go with the same sheets each time. the fitted sheet goes inside the flat sheet and they stay together. Pull one "set of sheets" and whatever pillow cases on the side of the closet you feel like. It changes the look of the bed each time.
