Rustic Nautical Rope Charger With Pottery Barn Style

10 Minutes
Easy
Rustic nautical rope plate chargers for your dining room table--it's easy to recreate this Pottery Barn style!
I wanted rope chargers for a nautical wedding photo shoot I worked on last year, and loved the look of the ones you could buy, but I wanted to make them myself. It turned out to be incredibly easy.
I used rope, felt, scissors, and a hot glue gun. (low temp--I always end up gluing my fingers). That's it. No special equipment or particular talent required!
I cut a circle of felt by tracing a dining charger I already had in the house. Then it was a simple matter to glue the rope to the felt form!
The rope charger worked fabulously with my nautical theme, but it would work equally well in any setting with rustic flair.

    Hi Nikki!

    Great Placemats! Thank You!

Is the felt backing a must? I was thinking of making these but without the felt. What do you think?

I love this idea! We live on the water and this would be perfect on our deck especially for parties instead of tablecloths! Making matching coasters would finish the look! Thanks!!!

@Kathleen I can imagine your fabulous dinners on the deck already! What a joy to live on the water.
