Klein Blue Campaign Chest / Dresser Makeover

Medium
Freebie-turned-fab! This was two for one deal given to me by a customer whose project I'm taking on as custom work. The dresser had several coats of old paint over a fiberboard and wood surface. I stripped it and gave it a much needed modern makeover in General Finishes Klein Blue.
I started with a tall chest of drawers that my customer had already started working on. The dresser had its original lacquer + 3-4 coats of paint - the final coat being chalk paint.
I had to strip it down in order to properly prepare the surface for paint. A messy job - yuck!
Stripped, sanded, and ready to prime.
3 coats of paint, 2 coats of poly, polished solid brass hardware - voila! Such a beauty.

I have a chest almost like this one, made of fiberboard covered with paper, which is supposed to look like wood. Any idea how I can strip this and paint it this beautiful color with out tearing up the fiberboard?
