What kind of glue? I tried hot glue and the glass popped off. I tried super glue gel and the same thing happened.

I would use E6000 or E5000, or 3-in-1 or Fabri Tac by Beacon. Walmart or any craft store. E6000 any big box or small hardware store..

I have done this on bowling balls to put outside and have used caulking. Schmutz a little on a put on the glass, keep doing this until covered. Let dry and then spray with a sealant so the weather won't hurt the ball. In fact, I forgot to take my gazing balls in last year and not a thing happened! I am one happy camper.
