Vintage Farmhouse IKEA Rast Hack

Easy
I was a little skeptical at first that I could make this plain chest from IKEA fit my home's style. I sat down and drew out a couple of options. I decided on this. The stripes were actually an afterthought in that it needed a little something else. Visit my blog for the full tutorial. This would be suitable for the beginning DIYer. style
Very pleased with the final outcome for our staircase in our French Country Farmhouse styled kitchen.
The before is plain and unfinished.
I painted with latex satin that I had on hand. Grain sack stripes are easily created with painter's tape.
A plank top and legs were added to the chest. This project becomes very simple for the beginner DIYer when you have your home improvement store cut your wood pieces for you. Full tutorial on my blog.
